June 24, 1932- March 26, 2008
as a kid with my granny (his older sister obviously)
Donald Lee Painter beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 26, after a four year battle with pulmonary disease (COPD). Don was born June 24, 1932 in Newport, WA. He was youngest of nine children. He entered the Army at seventeen and served over three years in Japan and Korea. After his discharge, he returned home to Newport and worked in construction for a few years. In 1956, he moved to Seattle, Washington, and went to work at The Boeing Company. His Boeing career spanned 35 years. Don loved to bowl and he has competed in many national tournaments. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, volunteering, reading, and watching television. He was a great fan of the Seahawks and the Mariners.

Don loved life, but most of all he loved his family, friends and his dog, Slater. He is survived by his wife, Lois; his sister, Margaret Oberg; his daughter, Tonda (Raymond) Saccomanno; his son, Michael Painter; his step-sons, David (Khamla) Fox and Paul (Cindy) Fox; his step-daughters, Denise (Jeff) Leidholm and Barbara (John) Blaine; his grandchildren, Gary, Joel, Reana, Sarah, Kim, Jason, Adam, Tricia, Jessica, Steven, Rachel, Ken, Mark, Chris and Vanessa; and eleven great-grandchildren.
My funnest memory was when I was around the age of 12 or so he talked to me with the spitting image of Donald Duck. He had that voice down pact... It was HILARIOUS!! He would have had so much fun knowing that his funeral was on April Fools Day.
We loved you so much Unlce Donald
