The one question in Belgrade right now is....
Apparently on Tuesday when the water tower went dry....any hoses or anything that were in horse troughs, kids swimming pools, etc... were sucked back into the water lines.
City Hall here in Belgrade was just going to sweep it under the rug and not tell any of the city livers. Yesterday (be it already two days of drinking the water) everyone in Belgrade is told not to drink the water. If you boil it on the stove it will be worse for you cause of the chemicals in it.
Someone in town had heard through the grapevine what had happened and called the city to see what they were going to do about it and was then told that the city wasn't going to do anything. That person then called DEQ (Department of Environmental Quality). DEQ then called the city and said that not only do they need to tell all the residents of Belgrade not to drink the water, BUT that they have to go and buy bottled water for AT LEAST a week, and that they need to get the water tested. That test takes about a week to process.
As soon as we heard that we have to start drinking bottled water we went to the stores in Belgrade to stock up. NO ONE HAD ANY!!! We had to drive all the way back to Bozeman and get water.
My question to you is....
What do you think the City should do for the residents now that everyone has to go out and buy all this water?
Josh and I think that not only should they reimburse everyone for having to make an emergency trip to Bozeman for bottled water that they should also reduce our water bills for the next payment (since we cant use water and aren't even able to water our yards).
I honestly think that the City won't do anything. Lets hope they prove me wrong!
